Finding an office that is efficient as well as knowledgeable can be difference between you saving your house or dealing with a foreclosure. An emergency bankruptcy is a strategy our team implements in certain cases to effectively stop a creditor from acting. While we never recommend waiting until the last minute---and actually always recommend to act well in advance---the reality is that some clients do wait. Our team regularly speaks with clients who need immediate attention. Reasons this might be are due to a pending foreclosure, pending wage garnishment, or pending lawsuit.
The most impactful one from above is the pending foreclosure. Our team under certain situations has been able to consult with a client, get retained, and file for Bankruptcy relief within hours of the first contact with our office. This could be done to stop a foreclosure from occurring. Once the case is filed, we immediately contact the company foreclosing and provide them the necessary information to stop the pending foreclosure. Now we can move forward with a chapter 13 case and plan in order to cure the delinquent payments. Again, while we do not recommend waiting until the last day, the reality is that our office does have the ability to help when a client doesn’t think they have any time left.
